A wireless mouse is typically made up of a couple of components. The mouse itself which will contain a battery and a wireless adapter, usually USB. The mouse sends signals to the adapter which forwards it to Windows to follow the command. It is a simple setup that works well most of the time.
Symptoms of a wireless mouse having issues will be erratic movement, the desktop cursor jumping or jerking around, the cursor not moving properly, or even not moving at all. All of these can be addressed with one or other of these fixes. This tutorial assumes the wireless mouse was working fine for a while and then suddenly began having issues.
Even optical mice can sometimes have an issue with the surface they are used on. It could be too glossy, too rough or not suitable. Try a different mouse mat, table, or even a book to see if a change of surface fixes the issue.
Most wireless mice will have a compartment underneath that houses the battery. Turn the mouse over and check that the battery is still there, in good condition and touching the terminal as it should. Take the battery out and make sure it is clean and free from debris and put it back.
Driver issues are a common cause of hardware problems so that is a logical place to troubleshoot your wireless mouse. We will first let Windows perform a driver update and then install a driver manually if necessary.
There are several keyboard shortcuts and commands that perform similar functions to using a mouse, however. And in most cases the arrow and Tab keys can be used to select items you want to interact with. Though while possible, using your computer without a mouse may feel sub-optimal and a little clunky.
To clean your computer mouse, turn it off (if applicable) and spray compressed air between the buttons and scroll wheel. Use a cleaning wipe on the surface of the mouse, and scrub at any stubborn areas. Gently brush out dust and dirt from the sensor with a cotton swab (dampened with cleaning solution) and dry using a dry swab.

@fischer76 A few things to check .Is the mouse turned on , check for a switch on the bottom of the mouse . Wireless mouse have off- on switches to help save the battery. Check the battery is not dead. Check that the dongle is plugged in all the way and if you have no joy try it in a different port . Go into the mouse configuration or settings and check that it is enabled .Finally test the mouse on another computer. Hope this helps
A mouse driver is an important part of a computer and it is commonly included with the Windows operating system. To let the machine communicate with a mouse, a device driver is essential. If your mouse functions incorrectly, perhaps it is the issue with the driver. You need to download, install, update or reinstall the mouse driver.
If you cannot find a proper version, try to download and install a mouse driver via a driver update tool. On the market, many programs are worth recommending and you can use Driver Easy, IObit Driver Booster, Dell Command Update, AVG Driver Updater, HP Support Assistant, Dell SupportAssist, etc. to automatically scan for the system and install the latest drivers including mouse driver for Windows 11/10.

Please note that this doesn't mean that all buttons can be pressed simultaneously, since this depends on the specific hardware of a mouse. Mice may have the hardware limitation that the thumb buttons can't be used together with left/right/mid click.

The Keyboard Works really well except for bluetooth won't connect but I think its my computer that struggles with bluetooth but the mouse has issues. I have to jiggle the cord for 30 minutes just to get it to connect (with the cord ) then when it finally does the mouse flashes on for a split second and turns off then I have to find every cord angle just to get it to connect. I know for a fact this is not my computer doing this.
The internal glow changes with the DPI settings and has pulsing or breathing features as well. The main issue I had with the mouse was the thumb buttons in the screenshot below, they are very small and rest at the very lower part of the thumb. I found them very hard to press with my thumb while gaming, my thumb just sat too high and the buttons were too small, it was a real struggle to use them effectively while gaming.
The braided cable is nice, but is a bit thin, maybe plastic coat it as well to help further protect against twisting would be idea. The mouse however has an excellent tracking sensor and tracked on my gaming pad well, no issues with Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Ark, Fallout 4 at all except for the thumb buttons being a bit too small this was a fun mouse to use. Now for smaller hands the mouse is fairly wide, and my 12 and 9 year olds found the mouse too large and wide for their smaller hands, but I had no trouble with the mouse on my hand.
The only other item is that my ring finger rest up against a metal aesthetic part that juts at the top right, this caused a little bit of skin irritation after a long period of use, maybe just need to build a callous but this is something that may cause finger irritation having your finger brush or rest against that metal part at the top right. In the screenshot below, that is the metal part on the right mouse button side that caused a little bit of irritation with my finger.
Can anyone help. I have limited usb ports on my computer (HP Laptop) and I want to connect the wireless mouse to it without the dongle. However I cannot get the mouse to be recognised by the computer?
A wireless mouse connects with the matching wireless receiver ( the matching dongle). Without the dongle, it will not have a connection, unless it uses Bluetooth and your laptop uses Bluetooth. Without the complete model number of the mouse and the laptop, unable to help further.
From the product information page, it says nothing about Bluetooth, so I have to assume it uses the normal 2.4GHz signal similar to WiFi but it needs the USB receiver designed for the mouse. The work around would be to replace the dongle or get a different mouse that has a dongle.
Sorry for jumping in. As you said, it is a Link-5 dongle therefore you can buy a new Link-5 receiver and RE-PROGRAM it. Otherwise buying a new set because each mouse must have a code to talk with its receiver (dongle). Just thinking a small room with 20 people who use SAME coded mice/receivers, must be very interesting.
All wireless mice are not create equal. Need the make and model of the mouse and it would be helpful to have the make and model of the PC, too. That info is needed to give advice to @yousofza 's question/statement. 2ff7e9595c
